Summer is here and it is hot hot hot! I have made up some chocolate syrup to keep in the fridge, so that we can make cold chocolate milk, milkshakes and lollies. My daughter loves a glass of cold chocolate milk for breakfast when the temperature rises, rather than her usual hot chocolate.
- 75g Mortimer chocolate powder
- 100 ml water
- 50g of caster sugar
Place water and sugar in a saucepan over a medium heat.
Stir until the sugar dissolves.
Add chocolate and whisk until melted.
Leave to cool
Store covered in the fridge
To make the chocolate milk:
Pour some of the syrup into a glass, add cold milk and stir.
I would suggest about a tablespoon of the syrup per 150ml of milk.
The syrup will thicken up in the fridge, but don’t worry it will still blend in well, if whisked into the milk.
